Alex Wyatt, CEO

Alex Wyatt

Alex Wyatt (Chief Executive Officer)
Alex is a co-founder and the Chief Executive Officer of Climate Bridge, based in Melbourne. He speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese, and in 2009 was recognised by Advance Asia 50 as one of the fifty most influential Australians living in Asia. Alex is acknowledged as an international expert on clean energy and sustainability matters in the Asia-Pacific region, and he serves as a member of the advisory board of GECKO, a Shanghai-based environmental charity, and as a member of the selection panel for the Victorian Rhodes Scholarships. Prior to founding Climate Bridge, Alex worked in the Shanghai office of McKinsey & Company, where he assisted Chinese state-owned and multi-national entities to optimise rail, sea and road networks around China. Alex holds Law and Computer Science degrees from the University of Melbourne and an MBA and a Masters in Chinese Studies from Oxford University, where he was a Rhodes Scholar.

Cameron Hepburn

Dr Cameron Hepburn (Executive Director)
Cameron is co-founder of Climate Bridge, based in London. He is well-known in Europe for his expertise in climate change economics, business and policy. Cameron is also a Senior Research Fellow at the London School of Economics and is a Senior Visiting Fellow at Oxford University. Cameron previously worked for McKinsey & Company in Australia and Europe and Shell Australia on environmental management. He serves as a Member of the Economics Advisory Group to the UK Secretary of State for Energy & Climate Change, the Academic Panel for UK DEFRA, as a Director of Vivid Economics Ltd, and on several other advisory boards. Cameron holds degrees in law and chemical engineering from Melbourne University, and a masters and doctorate in economics from Oxford University, where he studied as a Rhodes Scholar.

Zhang Zemin, China Director

Zhang Zemin (China Director)
Zhang Zemin serves as Climate Bridge’s China Director and has over 20 years of business experience in China.  He previously worked for London Asia Capital Plc, an UK AIM listed investment banking group, as the Investment Director for China Operations, where he oversaw investments and exits of LAC’s investee companies in China.  He has also served as COO in the Beijing Yibin Management Consulting Co., as well as the National Audit Office of China, Carrefour, and an American venture capital group.  Zemin holds an MBA from Oxford University, a Masters of Commerce from the University of New South Wales (Australia) and an undergraduate degree from the University of Wuhan, China.  He is a China qualified accountant (CPA) and a member of the ACCA in the United Kingdom.

Mark Laabs, COO

Mark Laabs (Chief Operating Officer)
Mark Laabs serves as Climate Bridge’s Chief Operating Officer based in Shanghai. Over his years in China, Mark has supervised the carbon implementation of more than 100 clean energy and energy efficiency projects. He previously helped establish Climate Bridge’s London office and managed transactions with banks, commodity funds, and commercial retailers. Mark was formerly a consultant at McKinsey & Company, where he ultimately focused on economically attractive energy efficiency opportunities in industrial and manufacturing sectors, with a particular emphasis on the Chinese market. Mark has served on the Boards of Nourish International, SEEDS, 上HIGH, and the Paradigm Fellowship. Mark graduated as a Robertson Scholar from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University.

Sven Kolmetz, Portfolio Director

Sven Kolmetz

Dr Sven Kolmetz (Project Portfolio Director)
Sven serves as Climate Bridge’s Project Portfolio Director, based in Munich, and has more than 20 years of experience in the clean energy sector. Before joining Climate Bridge, Sven was Head of the Carbon Group at TÜV SÜD, one of the leading Designated Operational Entities active in the global carbon markets. Sven also served as TÜV SÜD’s Regional Manager for China, during which time he supervised evaluation of more than 300 Chinese clean energy projects across the country. Sven has also worked at ETA Energy Consulting as General Manager. He has authored extensive academic research on clean energy and energy efficiency and is a recognized global thought leader in the industry. He graduated from the University of Munich Institute for Power Plant technologies and has a PhD in Engineering from the University of Kassel.
Princeton Peng, General Manager, China

Princeton Peng (General Manager, China)
Princeton Peng serves as Climate Bridge’s China General Manager and is based in Shanghai. Prior to joining Climate Bridge, he served for six years as a management consultant with Accenture, Watson Wyatt and IBM, engaging with clients to enhance business strategies and to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness. He has also spent more than 8 years with telecom equipment providers, Nortel and Ericsson, in a range of roles including marketing operations, business development, corporate strategic planning, and project management. Princeton holds an MBA from Said Business School at Oxford University and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Economics from the South China University of Technology.


China

Spread across Climate Bridge’s Chinese offices, the China team of around 40 people is responsible for the documentation, registration and monitoring of Climate Bridge’s ever-expanding portfolio of clean energy projects in China.

The team is distinctively credentialed. Most are graduates from China’s finest academic institutions, and the majority have advanced degrees from leading universities around the world, including top-25 universities in the USA, China, Europe, and Australasia. The large majority of these degrees were taken with majors in Environmental Science or Engineering, giving our China team distinctive technical and environmental expertise.

Europe

London:

Under the leadership of Paul Berdugo, our London Office is responsible for the commercialisation of Climate Bridge’s portfolio of emission reduction-related assets, including CERs and VERs Project Implementation Services, and the coordination of project investment opportunities. The team is expert at developing innovative commercial structures and approaches to meet the needs of Climate Bridge’s global portfolio of clients and investors.

Munich:

Our Munich office is headed by Dr. Sven Kolmetz, our Project Portfolio Director. The German office works in conjunction with our Shanghai-based implementation team to drive our projects through the CDM, Gold Standard, and VCS processes.


Australia

Our Melbourne Office is responsible for the many of Climate Bridge’s corporate activities including financial control, compliance, and investor relations. It is also responsible for the commercialisation of Climate Bridge’s ERs in the Asia-Pacific region.
