Description
The Pailou Hydro Power Project is a low water head hydro power plant that utilizes the natural power of the Wushui River to generate electricity that is sent to the Central China Power Grid. The construction of this power plant has helped to alleviate the electricity shortage in central china using clean energy instead of fossil fuel generate energy.
The total installed capacity of the project is 18.9 MW. The project’s estimated annual electricity generation is 75,818.5 MWh. Its annual emissions reductions are 73,926 tCO2e.
The project has increased temporary and permanent employment opportunities for the local residents as well as greatly increased tax revenue in the area.
